Our Italy vacation was terrific. The hotels were top of the line with great service personnel and amenities. The transfers in Milan and Venice were excellent, especially Venice. We would have had a very difficult time getting through Marco Polo Airport had it not been for our transfer assistant. She guided us right to the Delta check-in while transporting our luggage. That`s what we call service! We can`t say enough about the Ca` Nigra Lagoon Resort. That rose garden patio on the Grand Canal is simply stunning. We should point out that the Cruise Hotel is a very nice hotel but it is not within walking distance of Como City. In fact, it is located about 3 miles from downtown Como City. This is a 25 euro taxi ride from the train station and/or downtown. However, Como has a very good bus service with plenty of stops in town and in the outlying areas and it costs only 1.5 euros each way. We used the buses a lot. We should also point out that the Trenitalia railroad system is difficult for older travelers with luggage. There are no porters and the available in-car storage space is extremely limited and quickly filled, even in 1st class. Incidentally, if you haven`t taken a ferryboat ride on Lake Como, do it. It is even more spectacular than you`ve heard about it.

Everything was great. We felt we got a true bargain. The hotels were perfect, as described. The Airflight was fine, exactly suited our needs for a no transfer flight. The trains were interesting to use. We booked walking tours in Milan and Venice which were super, especially the Venice one.
