►I chose 4 star hotels. However, there was a drastic difference in the overall quality of the various hotels. A more consistent definition would be helpful in selecting hotels. We experienced a level of inconsistency in the rating of our four hotels.

Our Observations:

The star rating system itself is developed by each country. A 4 star hotel you would find in the USA and in Europe, in comparison , would show some distinct variables. For this reason, this is why we like to use the site TrustYou, to determine how hotels may be viewed by all types of travelers.
We also have a number of hotels that we have listed as recommended hotels, which all score above 85 on TrustYou. Travelers who take advantage of being able to select their own hotels have the opportunity to select whether they would prefer Room Only (cheaper option) or Bed and Breakfast.
