Explore Greece

Some of the most magical and exotic places are hidden on the mainland where you can enjoy the raw natural beauty, admire ancient ruins with buzzing contemporary life and try some delicious traditional Greek food.

The Cyclades Islands are the most famous island group in the Aegean Sea that comprise some of the most stunning islands in the world.

Only a short distance from Turkey`s Turquoise Coast in the southeastern Aegean, the Dodecanese chain of islands lies in what is called the sunniest corner of Greece.

The Ionian Islands is a cluster of six isles that are linked in a chain down the west coast of Greece. It is not only stunningly scenic but also has a character of its own that is set apart from other Greek islands.

The Saronic islands, which include Hydra and Aegina, are the islands closest to Athens in Greece. This group of islands is a small, relatively sheltered gulf between Attica and the Peloponnese. You could describe them as “the islands off Athens”.

The cradle of European Civilization, Crete is the largest island in Greece, and the fifth largest in the Mediterranean Sea with remnants of brilliant civilizations, rugged mountains, endless beaches and turquoise seas, charming towns and villages, and stunning countryside.

Experiences & Adventures

Food is a huge part of Greek culture. The cuisine offers an incredibly rich and diverse array of foods and beverages that are the culmination of thousands of years of living, cooking, and eating. Flavors of Greek food change with season and geography, however, fresh vegetables, fishes and seafood always play a significant role in the dishes, mostly because of its long coastline.

Western civilization was born in Greece over 4,000 years ago. It therefore comes as no surprise that this ancient land is home to 18 amazingly unique UNESCO Sites to visit. From Bronze Age citadels and the sacred Acropolis of Athens, to Byzantine monasteries and Venetian fortresses, Greece’s ongoing efforts to protect and curate its sites and monuments is testament to the tireless work of archaeologists, conservators and heritage managers across the country.

Greece is a country where historic ruins, volcanic cliffs, and friendly locals meet the blue Mediterranean Sea. It`s the whole package spread out amongst thousands of gorgeous islands. Discover the historical heritage on a major European capital in Athens before taking in the whitewashed villages of the islands where you`ll find ample opportunities to enjoy swimming, eating and gazing at the deep-blue Aegean.

Many people associate Greece travel with island-hopping by ferry, but taking an iconic Greek road trip is a great way to get off the beaten track and experience this enchanting country. Not only will it give you more flexibility with your itinerary, it will allow you to visit small villages, remote archeological sites, and vineyards and tavernas - there's so much more to Greece than its beaches. So jump in the car and hit the road on the mainland in Greece for a fantastic adventure!

The country is a bit of a mystery to many wine drinkers, who may be limited by their knowledge of the region, grape varieties, or simply the pronunciation. However, one visit to Greece, sipping dry white wine of Santorini Island, sampling rosé on a Peloponnese road trip, indulging in sparkling wines in the mountainous north, or discovering the reds of Crete: there is something for every taste.

WHY KEFALONIA?

The biggest of the Ionian Islands, Kefalonia is as diverse as it is vast. It is the only Greek island to have a national park, and it is home to two different turtle species. This island has the most rugged landscape yet is full of impressive pine trees framing every road. Once overlooked by Corfu and Zante, this jigsaw piece-shaped island is stepping out of the shadows of its siblings. And with stunning pastel colored harbors surrounding the turquoise waters and deserted beaches, it’s not hard to see why. From the farmland and vineyards of the Paliki Peninsula to the sheer cliffs and rocky shoreline of the north, this island is filled with surprises. As a matter of fact, due to a major earthquake in 1953, it offers a fairly modern feel, despite that the island is extremely appealing, with its stunning harbors, plentiful walking trails and popular Greek tavernas.
