One of the most popular sights in Croatia, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, boasting over 1.5 million visitors in 2018 alone. The town closest to the lakes is called Plitvicka Jezera (which translates to Plitvice Lakes); nearby towns to the north include Rakovica, Grabovac, Smoljanac, and Poljanak, while towns to the south include Jezerce, Rudanovac, Vrelo Korenicko, Vranovaca, and Korenica.
