ORLEANS - NEIGHBORHOODS

City Center

The city center and principal region of interest for visitors is around the cathedral and along rue Jeanne d`Arc, the region of the town between here and the Loire River. The Loire River divides Orléans into two unequal parts with the main part of the city on the northern bank of the Loire. The old quarter is surrounded by wide boulevards and quays along the river.

All around town you`ll find statues, stained-glass windows, renaissance architecture, half timbered houses and museum exhibits dedicated to Joan of Arc. Other attractions in the city center include an outstanding art museum and a breathtaking cathedral. These attractions and highlights are all within a short distance of each other making it easy to get around. You will also find numerous restaurants and shops within the city limits as well.
