NEIGHBORHOODS - HOTEL ZONES

City Center

The center offers a lively atmosphere with an attractive and well preserved historic center, with narrow streets and tree-lined boulevards typical of the south of France. The main sights are all within comfortable walking distance of each other in the city center. Here you`ll find the Roman Arena, Maison Carrée, Musée des Beaux-Arts, Carré d`Art, Les Halles (market), Placeaux Herbes, Nimes Cathedral, Esplanade Charles-de-Gaulle, amongst other attractions. The center also offers the major shopping streets Rue de l`Aspic and Place de l`Horloge and their numerous shops, restaurants and cafes.

Outskirts

The area around Nimes offers plenty more in the way of classical remains, beautiful natural landscapes, and wetlands of the Camargue to the southeast. Staying in the outskirts will typically require transportation to the city center, and keep in mind you may not be near public transportation. If you do stay in the outskirts you will want to account for travel and cost of transportation.
