LJUBLJANA - WHEN TO GO

The best time to visit Ljubljana is during the shoulder season, which roughly corresponds to the first three weeks in April, the last three weeks in May, and the months of September and October. The weather is milder, with temperatures during the day ranging from the 50s (Fahrenheit) in early April and October to the 70s in May and September. Ljubljanans tend to flee the city in the summertime, meaning that if you choose these peak times, you will be able to see the city buzzing at its peak.

If you do decide to visit during peak season (June through August) or in the off-season (November to March), consider coming to town for one of these two events: the annual Ljubljana Festival begins each June and stretches on for ten weekends. Opera, live music, dance, and other events dedicated to the performing arts are staged in the Krizanke Theatre. In November, the Ljubljana International Film Festival brings tens of thousands of people to the capital to see a slate of critically-acclaimed films, scheduled over twelve days, at the country`s largest performing arts center, Cankar Hall.

High temperatures in high season range from 80-90 degrees. It is not uncommon for temperatures to struggle to reach 32 degrees in the winter.
