Begin the afternoon by getting acquainted with Cannes. Head to Boulevard de la Croisette, one of the most fashionable streets on the French Riviera, and be awestruck by the beautiful villas and upscale boutiques. The boulevard extends from the new Palais des Festivals along the rade de Cannes with its fabulous sandy beach. A beach front promenade offers outstanding views of the gulf and the Lerins Islands in the distance of the Mediterranean Sea. Boulevard de la Croisette ends at the harbor and lovely Parc de la Roseraie and the idyllic Port Pierre Canto with its rows of luxury yachts moored at the harbor.

As evening approaches make your way to Rue Meynadier, a narrow cobblestone, pedestrian-only avenue lined with trendy shops and restaurants. This is a wonderful area to wander around and enjoy an alfresco dining experience!

Start the day off early at the Cannes Open Markets. The Forville Market, Place Gambetta, and La Bocca offer samples of the freshest locally produced or even homemade or homegrown produce, flowers, and seafood. Mingle with the locals and have your sensory delights heightened with the colors, smells, and sounds these markets have to offer.

Later, continue to Palais des Festivals, where the famous and most glamorous Film Festival is held each year. From here head to Le Suquet, or the Old City Center, where most of the historic and cultural substance of Cannes is found. The district represents the original fishing village, a picturesque hillside setting offering exceptional views as well as Old World charm.
