The United Arab Emirates (or UAE) has quickly begun to top many bucket lists. The country consists of seven independent city-states, which are Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras al Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al Quwain.

Qatar is one of the smallest countries in the world and it is located in the Middle East. Doha, the capital, is located in the Persian gulf and the country shares its border with Saudi Arabia and The United Emirates.

Oman is known for its mountains which lead to deserts, great places to go hiking, rock climbing, four-wheel driving on rural roads, and even camel riding! Oman, like many nations on the Arabian Peninsula, is well-known for its many castles and forts. It is also well-known for its traditional villages, many of which have been acutely isolated from the outside world and have only recently welcomed outside visitors and influences.

Bahrain, the small island country in the Persian Gulf roughly the same size as Rhode Island, is known for its many forts and palaces, and also for its mosques, ranging from quaint to glittering. Its many museums illustrate and showcase life on the island over the last three millennia. Bahrain is well-known for its global food scene, considering it is home to a majority expatriate population.

Turkey, which sits astride two continents, is called the 'Cradle of Civilization.' There are more Roman archaeological sites than in all of Italy, and more ancient Greek ruins available for viewing by the public than in Greece. The history of the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, Ottomans, and finally the modern Turkish nation are all on display here.
