The wine district's rolling vineyards produce complex, but amazing white wines. It showcases the fundamental elements of a living cultural landscape inasmuch as it retains an active social role in contemporary society, closely associated with the traditional way of life and its continuous evolutionary process. The sprawling property is a stretch of the Danube Valley between Melk and Krems that provides quite a variety of significant material evidence of its evolution over time. It is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
