This is a suggested independent itinerary that you customize. Please select the best flights, hotels, trains, activities, transportation and number of nights in each destination to fit your needs.

Visit the Amalfi Coast in Italy and explore on your own terms! Begin your vacation in Naples (a spectacle for the senses; be sure to enjoy an authentic Italian pizza right here where it was invented!) and after your overnight here, continue to visit Pompeii (a treat for lovers of antiquity - the ancient city ruins are captivating, never has a city been so intricately seized in time) and Ercolano (a quaint fishing port which, legend says, was founded by Hercules himself). The following day visit breathtaking sites at Paestum and continue towards Amalfi (a stunning area with a magical quality, once an important maritime city where the famous Amalfi Tables were created, and famous for the incomparable and unusual beauty of the Emerald Grotto). The next day recuperate while visiting Sorrento (an animated city with famous gardens). From Sorrento you can choose to visit several small villages such as Positano or the captivating Isle of Capri. There is so much to explore in Sorrento we suggest 2 days here. After having your fill, drive back to Naples to return your car and fly home (although you may not want to)! This is a flexible vacation package. Select your number of nights in each city, desired hotel and activities.

Trip Summary
2 nights in Naples

The proximity of the city of Naples (Napoli) to the Vesuvius gives its inhabitants a certain edge. Its reputation as the most vibrant city in Italy can be a double-edged sword, explaining why some tourists like it and some hate it outright. Nonetheless, the charm of Naples resides in its narrow streets with numerous ancient churches, street markets, cafes, bars and restaurants, all leading to a cacophony of sounds and images embodying the spirit of the Italian South.

Visit and discover the Ancient Ruins of Pompeii, Climb Mount Vesuvius, sail to the Island of Capri, explore the Nativity Markets, visit the National Archaeological Museum, the Secret Underground World and the San Gennaro Catacombs, visit the Ruins of Herculaneum, enjoy the Piazzas of the city, and so much more.

2 nights in Amalfi Town

Amalfi Town is a jewel of a picturesque seaside resort that has an ideal climate, breathtaking views and unique natural beauties plus the most vibrant, typical Italian atmosphere. It is a graceful place with its cluster of white buildings which amble up the hillside from the water rather than clinging vertically to it like the other towns in the area, making it a bit easier to walk around. The city starts at the water`s edge with a pretty promenade along the Mediterranean and a marina full of colorful boats and their international flags. The focal point of the historic center is the Piazza del Duomo, in front of the striking cathedral. The piazza is clustered with sidewalk cafes and elegant shops, sixty steps lead to the church with its the Byzantine style structure that bears Moorish-influenced arches and decoration.

Visit and explore the Emerald Grotto is one of Amalfi's natural wonders, at Cape Conca as well as the Convento di San Francesco and so much more.

2 nights in Sorrento

The best-known town on the Neapolitan Riviera is Sorrento, which is situated in a stunning location, on a long cliff amid lemon and olive groves overlooking the sea. Sorrento offers charming cobblestone streets, alluring lungomare (seafront promenade), colorful and fragrant flowers, and a lively cultural scene. The old town still retains its Roman grid of narrow streets and its centro storico are alive with cafes, clubs, and restaurants, which become an exciting atmosphere during the sweet nights of summer.

Visit and discover Marina Grande and Marina Piccola, Cloister of San Francesco, Bagni della Regina Giovanna, Cathedral and Bell Tower, Basilica of Sant'Antonino, Villa Comunale, Correale di Terranova Museum, Museo-Bottega della Tarsia Lignea (Wooden Marquetry Shop-Museum), and so much more.
