The Royal Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet is surely the most representative monastery of the Ruta dels Reials Monestirs de Catalunya (Route of the Royal Monasteries of Catalonia) and constitutes an authentic historical and architectural jewel. A community of more than thirty monks still lives there, which gives it authenticity when it comes to capturing the particularities of monastic life. The core of the spiritual life of the monastery is the church, called Santa Maria. It is made up of a basilica plan with three naves with a transept, an apse with an ambulatory for the passage of pilgrims, a spectacular pointed or ogival vault and a set of accessory chapels with a radial structure. Please note we do not offer hotels or other activities in this city at this time, but you can explore it from Barcelona, Tarragona or Lleida.
