Sanguesa is in the middle area of the Region of Aragon, on the banks of the Aragon River. This town in Navarre has many buildings in Medieval style. Wandering around Sanguesa is like traveling back in time - much of its medieval center has not changed over the centuries. Take time to move around, occasionally stopping at one of the lovely little bars or restaurants. There are many churches and mansions, as well as a medieval hospital and a royal palace. Only a few kilometers away you will find outstanding monuments such as Javier Castle and San Salvador de Leire Monastery, along with stunning landscapes: the Lumbier and Arbayún gorges, and the Roncal and Salazar valleys, in the Pyrenees.
