Less than 30 miles northwest of Copenhagen, lies Hillerod - one of the most important towns in the Scandinavian history. The main tourist attraction is Frederiksborg Castle, which for a long time was the seat of the Danish kings. Also well worth a visit is the Town Museum (`Bymuseet`) hosting a permanent exhibition regarding the history of Hillerod.
