RIGA - HOTEL ZONES

Old Town

As with many European cities, the Old Town area is the hub of the historic points of interest and UNESCO World Heritage area. It`s also the best area in Riga for easy acces to great restaurants, pubs, and clubs. If you only have a short time in Riga and want to see as much as possible, we highly recommend staying in the Old city of Riga.

Agenskalns

Agenskalns is located across the Daugava River from Riga Old Town. This is a great option for visitors wishing for a quieter spot close to, but not in, the central area of Riga. By tram, you can easily access the Old City in 5 minutes, so those who choose to stay here and you will not miss out on any things to do in Riga.

This area of Riga is sometimes referred to as `Riga`s Wooden Heart` as many wood houses still stand here, dating back to the 18th century. For local entertainment, head to Kalnciema Quarter, which has a Saturday market and live music in the summer. For those driving to Riga, there are more options for paking, so this is another reason you may consider this neighborhood.

Outskirts

Staying in the outskirts offers a rural escape from the city of Riga when it was developed in the early 20th century. Staying outside the city center offers some alternative attractions such as the zoo, beaches, trails and watersports at the lake.

The outskirts are always a quieter option and often times you will be amongst residential communities. You will want to take into consideration transportation when you are staying outside of the action.
