CHEFCHAOUEN - RECOMMENDED NEIGHBORHOOD

Souika - Medina and Kasbah (City Center)

Chefchaouen is divided into two parts. The El Hafa neighborhood comprises the western part of town, and Souika comprises the eastern portion. Souika is the neighborhood where most of the historic sights in Chefchaouen are located, and where the accommodation options offered by TripMasters are located as well.

The main square in town is the Place Outa El Hamam, where such sights as the Kasbah, Kasbah Garden, Ethnographic Museum of Chefchaouen, and the Grand Mosque are located. Many accommodation options are located on the streets to the north of Place Outa El Hamam, between the square and Rue Autiui, and to the east all the way out to Avenue Ras el-Maa. Chefchaouen`s blue-washed Medina is located in the northeastern quadrant of Souika, close to the Ras el-Maa waterfall.

Those looking for restaurants in the area will not be disappointed; Chefchaouen`s reputation as an epicenter of Mediterranean dining in Morocco has earned it a spot on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. You can find the Moorish and Spanish-inspired seafood restaurants on and around Place Outa El Hamam.
