OLYMPIA - HOTEL ZONES

City Center

The modern town of Olympia (population 1,000), also known as the city center and referred to as Ancient Olympia, is located within walking distance of the archaeological site. The town is divided in two by a long pedestrian street which is considered as the center and commercial heart of the town. The city center consists of Greek taverns, numerous souvenir shops, a taxi station, several cafes and bars and many hotels. The city center also provides easy access to transportation links such as the OSE Train station, which is within walking distance to any of the hotels located in this area.

The modern town has a very good tourist office on Praxitelous Kondyli, where you can change money, get maps and schedules for buses, trains and ferries.

Outskirts

The outskirts encompass many different areas; make sure to check the specific hotel location for each hotel. The city center is typically not very far from these hotels and may offer better value. Visitors staying in the outskirts will need to plan for transportation. We recommend you checking with these hotels so you are familiar with your location and travel time into the town center.
