Chur is a very small city and much of it is easily walkable. Aldstadt (Old Town) is mostly all pedestrianized.

Driving in Chur is possible. However, the old town of chur is car-free. Look for signs to several parking garages on the edge of the Old Town (i.e. on Gäuggelistrasse), charging around 2F per hour.

Bahnhofplatz is the hub for all local buses, which cost around 3F per journey (valid for changes for 30 minutes). The bus operates on five different routes. Services become less frequent after 8pm.

The city bus of Chur offers you tickets / day tickets or the pass for your journeys in the city. You can buy your ticket for a single journey or your day ticket directly from the chauffeur on the bus. Passes can be purchased at the regional information center in the underpass at Chur station. For frequent journeys we recommend the modern ChipCard, which can be programmed according to your needs so that you can travel comfortably throughout the bus network.

The Taxi stand in Chur is located on the south side of the train station next to Ochsner Sport.

Trains are the best way to get around, they run like, well, clockwork. An all-in-one Travel Pass lets you hop on and off regional and national trains, buses and even ferries no matter the distance. With a few exceptions, there is no need for reservations even with a first class pass. A seat reservation and supplement is required for the Glacier, Bernina, Gotthard Panorama and Palm expresses.
