THE BEST TIME TO VISIT CORSICA

Generally speaking, we recommend you visit during the summer if you want to enjoy the Corsican beaches, or in April-May or September-October if you want to visit and explore the island. The weather is sunny and warm and the water is pleasant between May and September. If you are going walking, you will appreciate the months of May, June and September: it`s not too hot and the island is less crowded. Visitors who want to swim and enjoy the warm water and superb beaches will prefer the months of July and August.

You can also enjoy Corsica in April or October, which are pleasant months for a visit to the charming villages. Some of Corsica`s little villages are worth a trip by themselves, and these months are the best time to visit them when tourist season is slower and prices are cheaper. Pigna and Sant`Antonino, for example, are among the `most beautiful villages in France` and Piana is well-known for its calanques. And, of course, you shouldn`t miss Sainte-Lucie-de-Tallano, one of the island`s most beautiful villages, at almost 1,500 ft above sea level. All of these villages generally get very busy and overcrowded in the height of season (summer months).

If you plan to partake in a lot of hiking, walking, biking, and outdoor physical activities, we recommend the months of May, June or September when the weather is at it`s most comfortable. Walk the 15 days of the legendary FR20, or simply walk one of its paths. Explore the calanques of Piana and Capo Rosso or go along the cliffs of Bonifacio.

Between November and March the island is not very lively, due to the weather, this is the off-season. This is also the time where you can find some fantastic deals on accommodations and you won`t run into crowds.
