City Center

Amboise is very small and all of the major sites can be reached on foot. The town center is a 15-20 minute walk from the train station and accommodation and eateries tend to be concentrated around this region. The town center is considered the `old town` and is within walking distance of the chateau. This is a great area to stay to be in the heart of everything.

Outskirts

The outskirts of Amboise is great to stay to explore other Loire Valley cities around Amboise, you will be close to Blois, Chaumont-sur-Loire, Chenonceau, and Cheverny. The Loire River is great to walk along in the summer months. It can be nice to be in the country/outskirts to be out of the hustle and bustle of the city center. If you do stay further out of the city you may want the convenience of a car.
