ANNECY - HOTEL ZONES

City Center

Annecy is beautifully positioned on the shores of Lake Annecy, beautifully edged with alpine hills and mountains. The city center offers charming little canals, and packed with architectural treasures dating from when Annecy was the seat of the Dukes of Savoy and the region`s capital. You`ll find many of the best places to stay in Annecy in the old town, in converted palaces and beautiful mansions. The town is a wonderful place to be outdoors, and the many outdoor cafes and small parks are busy with people just enjoying the views. If you choose to stay in the city center you will be right in the hustle bustle of the city and walking distance to most everything.

Outskirts

It is great to stay in the outskirts which allow easy access to exploring other bordering small towns such as Talloires, Menthn, St Bernard and Veyrier du Lac. These villages all connect to Annecy by bus and (in summer) ferry. The lake area is beautiful to stay in the summer months offering swimming and sunbathing and is a very pleasant 10 to 15 walk into town (depending on your location) along beautiful lakeside paths. It can be nice being a little distance out from the hustle and bustle of the old town. If you do stay further out of the city you may want the convenience of a car.
