SAINT TROPEZ - GETTING AROUND

By Public Transportation

There is a modest bus system in town, VarLib (www.varlib.fr) that runs line 7705 from Saint Tropez bus station to Pampelonne beach and on to Ramatuelle. The line runs only from April to September. Line 7742 also offers runs to the beach and is available year round, but less frequent. The trip is about a 6 minute drive and will cost about €3.

By Walking

Saint Tropez is the kind of city that really should be explored on foot. Unless you are staying somewhere out of the way, going to the beaches or taking a trip out to the suburbs, buses and taxis are usually unnecessary while in town.

By Bicycle

Bicycle and Scooter rentals located at 14 Avenue General Leclerc. Here you can rent a bicycle for about €15 a day, and scooters run about €45 per day. Because the beaches are a little way out of town, some four miles by road, many people opt to rent a bicycle or scooter. It will get you to the beach quicker but there are a few hills en route.

By Taxi

A taxi stand is located at the Vieux Port infront of the Musee de l`Annonciade.

By Car

It is not recommended to drive in Saint Tropez because parking is pricey, and traffic is terrible. If you do have a car there are a few parking options to choose from. There is street parking available but you will run the risk of getting a parking ticket. Always remember to read all signs when parking on the streets. Parking can also be found at des Lices, beneath place des Lices, or Parking du Nouveau Port, on waterfront avenue Charles de Gaulle.

By Boat

Should you want to see Saint Tropez from the sea, check out the shore excursions offered from the Vieux Port, you`ll appreciate the beauty of the bay and the headland. Another option is a boat rental, boats of all sizes and prices are available at the port, as well as boat charters.
