If you don't take a tour or have a rental car (recommended), then the easiest way is by bus (www.trasportibrescia.it) covers the western and southern shores from Desenzano to Riva; while (www.atv.verona.it) covers the eastern shore from Verona to Riva. Public buses run all around the lake.

Less frequent, but far more scenic, you can travel by boat (www.navigazionelaghi.it). Lake Garda is well served by hydrofoils, catamarans, and ferries, especially during summer. Car ferries between the western and eastern shores run between Toscolano Maderno and Torri del Banaco and between Limone and Malcesine.
