Chinatown

San Francisco’s Chinatown is the first and largest in North America, located next to North Beach and the Financial District. This neighborhood has a deep Chinese history that can be discovered at teh Chinese Historical Society of America Museum or at the Chinese Culture Center. The streets here are adorned with pagoda-style architecture, ornate lamp posts, and temples. Visitors flock to this bustling northeastern corner for exotic menus, as well as some great accommodation options. Staying in Chinatown puts you in close proximity to other popular San Francisco attractions. There are many great hotels, Inns, and apartments to choose from when opting to stay in Chinatown. There are plenty of nearby restaurants, trinket shops, and exclusive landmarks like the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory to check out. Chinatown’s Dragon’s Gate is a mesmerizing 24 street blocks overflowing with Chinese restaurants, food markets, street food vendors, and locally owned shops. Grant Avenue is where tourists like to go for dining and shopping, it is one of the oldest streets in Chinatown running north to south beginning at Market Street in the heart of downtown and dead-ending past Francisco Street in the North Beach district.  

Financial District

San Francisco’s Financial District is the city’s historic center situated in the northeast quadrant of the city anchored by Market Street and the waterfront. It is the headquarters of companies such as TransAmerica, and Bank of America. The bustling, popular Union Square neighborhood and Tenderloin are located nearby. There are plenty of places to stay when choosing the Financial District as your base when visiting San Francisco. This part of the city is home to the city’s massive skyscrapers and office buildings. 

Fisherman's Wharf

San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf puts visitors right on the waterfront, a picturesque neighborhood with plenty of tourist attractions, and great accommodations. This popular tourist destination is a hot spot to base yourself on when visiting the bustling city with access to top sights like The Anchorage and Pier 39 where sea lions can be spotted, to Ghirardelli Square for the sweet smells. Here visitors can visit a variety of restaurants especially seafood restaurants with great views over the water, watch the fishing fleets come in and out, and explore the city’s maritime history. This iconic neighborhood has easy access to all forms of transportation and is easily accessible on foot. It is a great palace to stay in when visiting the city mostly in part due to its many hotels, activities, and attractions. Stroll down Jefferson Street and take the sights, sounds, and smells along the way. The repurposed wooden finger pier 39 is now festooned with restaurants, souvenir shops, street performers, and attractions like the Aquarium of the Bay and The Flyer. 

Nob Hill

San Francisco is home to seven hills, Nob Hill is one of the original neighborhoods. California’s Big Four (also known as the 4 nabobs or nobs) “robber barons” who built the Central Pacific Railroad all built their mansions on Nob Hill. This elevated upscale neighborhood is celebrated for its award-winning food, swanky hotels and other accommodations, and magnificent architecture. A few of the luxury hotels that position this area as one of the most affluent in the city can be found in the Nob Hill neighborhood. These include The Fairmont Hotel, The Huntington, The Intercontinental Mark Hopkins, and Standford Court. If you are looking to stay in a class neighborhood set right in the heart of San Francisco with outstanding views, then Nob Hill is the place to be. 

South Beach

South Beach is a great neighborhood on the Bay side of San Francisco, located on the eastern edge of the City on the Bay. South Beach overlooks the harbor with spectacular views of the bay and the ships passing and of the Bay Bridge. There are some great hotels to choose from in South Beach, many boasting fantastic amenities, and breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay. This is one of the best neighborhoods to stay in when visiting the city, it is centered around South Park, a verdant, oval-shaped neighborhood park. South Beach is one of the city’s hippest neighborhoods adorned with wonderful high-end restaurants as well as endless shopping opportunities, coffee shops, and bars. Oracle Park is located in South Beach, home of the San Francisco Giants, where visitors and locals can catch a game of baseball. The San Francisco Bay Trail and the nearby Embarcadero offer a great outdoor space for walkers, joggers, and cyclists to get out and enjoy. 

Union Square

Union Square is one of the prime neighborhoods in the heart of downtown San Francisco. The city’s commercial hub and prime shopping district where many major hotels and department stores are found in the area surrounding the actual square. The square is a 2.6-acre square featuring a landmark park in the center of the downtown shopping and hotel district of the city. When it comes to accommodations in Union Square there are luxury hotels hotels such as The Grand Hyatt, and Taj Campton situated just off the square on the Stockton Street side. On the Powell Street side, there is the magnificent Westin St. Francis Hotel. There are many reasons to base yourself in Union Square, first, it is the city’s major shopping district, it's home to the Theatre District, it's a major transportation hub, and most of teh city’s hotels are located here. There are numerous upscale restaurants, boutiques, nightspots, and galleries in the neighborhood. And Union Square is home to the manual cable car turnaround one of the city’s most unique sites.
