Camp Area

The accommodations in the Wahiba Sands area consist of traditional Bedouin-style desert camps. These camps offer a range of accommodations from basic tents to more luxurious options, providing visitors with a unique desert experience. Whether it's stylized tents, Bedouin barbecues, late-night music, and a range of activities on offer, most of the camps have some element of providing you with an authentic desert experience.

There are several camps to choose from. If you're looking for a quiet more intimate desert experience then you want to pick one of the smaller camps. The bigger camps will have more potential noise from other guests, as well as people heading out on ATV and dune bashing trips, as well as the hum from generators (and AC units) operating everything you need to sustain a camp in the middle of the desert. However, the big camps will typically offer more amenities.

While all the camps are in the desert, not all are up in the dunes. There is a big difference between being on the valley floor looking up at the dunes and being among the dunes themselves. Being up in the dunes offers a whole desert experience, surrounded by beautiful rolling sand dunes.

Some camps in the area are permanent desert camps built to withstand the harsh desert environment. These camps may feature amenities such as private chalets, swimming pools, recreational facilities, etc. Generally speaking, the camps are of great standard with a range of preferences and budgets, offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in the natural beauty and culture of the Omani desert.
