Taxis in RAK are regulated by RAKTA, the RAK Transport Authority. Taxis are metered, air-conditioned, reasonably priced, and easy to identify with cream-colored roofs. They are also easily available to flag on the street or you can call ahead and pre-book, it should not take more than a few minutes to find a taxi. Al Arabia Taxi is another option for taxis in the city. Another relatively newer option to the RAK transport network is the Hala taxi, which you can book via the Careem App. .

Car rental is easily available option. Most of the roads in Ras Al Khaimah are in good condition and it is easy to find the way around (at least in the city). However, driving can be a challenging experience for those who are not used to slightly chaotic roads. International car rentals are available in most of the hotels. There are also numerous smaller local companies around the town. .

A few tour operators (mainly in the international hotels) organize Ras Al Khaimah city tours. Most of the big hotels provide buses for their guests to the RAK Old City and shopping malls.

RAKTA provides public transportation services by buses within the Emirate to facilitate the mobility process through routes and bus stops covering the vital geographic locations and connecting the sporadic areas with the center of Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.

The bus system is currently expanding and will soon have internal bus services.
