City Center

The unique city center of Abidjan is nicknamed the “Manhattan of the Tropics”, “Small Manhattan”, or “Pearl of the Lagoons”. The city is a testament to what the country was and what it could be again, this is evident in many of the city centers hotels. Many of these buildings date back to the 60s and boast a mixture of French architecture and African charm. The city is filled with several popular, residential neighborhoods such as Cocody, Marcory, Le Plateau, Yopougon, and Port-Bouet where other accommodations are becoming more plentiful.

The Le Plateau neighborhood is located in the heart of the city, which is also known as the business district, and is home to some of the tallest buildings located in Abidjan. Some of the city's most luxurious accommodations are found here. The Ivory Coast’s capital city is divided into two parts, the North, and the South which are separated by the Lagune Ebrie and connected via 3 bridges. The beauty of Abidjan is the beaches dotted around the lagoon, lined with swaying palms and spectacular views, many accommodations can be found in the beach and lagoon area.
