City Center

Lome’s city center offers a decent selection of accommodation options at an affordable price. In the Grand Marche area, there are some nice hotels featuring French-inspired architecture and access to one of the liveliest parts of the city. Markets, stalls, small shops, restaurants, and nightlife are bountiful in the heart of the city. The city center is a good location to base yourself and is within walking distance to most of the top attractions and not a long way from the beaches. The city center dates from the early 20th century and is adorned with beautiful colonial architecture which can be seen in the buildings including the Palace of the Governors, or the Sacred Heart Cathedral which is a German neo-Gothic style building. The center of town also boasts many modern buildings like the headquarters of the Central Bank of West African States and the Togolese Bank for Trade and Industry. In this area of the city, there are many modern hotels as well such as the famous Hotel du 2 Fevrier, a modernist building mixing concrete and glass panels and reaches a height of 334 feet tall, making it the tallest building in the country.

Coast

Staying by the beautiful beaches in Lome is a great way to spend a relaxing vacation. Many wonderful accommodations line the beachfront, the coastline of Togo in the Gulf of Guinea stretches for 35 miles. The best hotels in Lome can be found on the beach and offer some great amenities such as swimming pools, spas, beachfront restaurants, and more. There are lagoons along the coastline as well as the gulf for swimming and watersports. Beach Road runs right along the coastline in the city where many of these accommodations are located, allowing for easy access to shopping, dining, and entertainment options as well as nighttime beach parties.
