ANTANANARIVO - HOTEL ZONES

City Center

Antananarivo City Center has a lot to offer: famous sites, great restaurants, and a range of exciting entertainment. Haute-Ville, an area within the city center, lies on top of the highest hill of Tana and is a popular place for tourists to stay. Defined by its hilly streets, elegant colonial buildings, and the Rova, which sits at its highest point. Here you'll find an architectural mix of Asian and European influences, following the tastes of the country's royal and political elite during the 19th century. It is easy to walk around. If you stay in the lower areas of Tana, such as near the lake, it would be advisable to take a taxi to the Haute-Ville area, but then walk down.

Downtown is a city center district that encompasses the historic borough of Analakely and it's where you will find the main train station and Independence Avenue.

Alarobia

Alarobia is the business district of Antananarivo. Here you'll find shopping centers and restaurants. You will need to take public transportation or drive into the city center.

When choosing a hotel, it’s important to pay attention not only to the number of stars but also to the services offered by a hotel. Many five-star hotels in Antananarivo have a quality of service on par with three-star European hotels.
