City Center

Acre, also known as Akko and Akka is situated on the northern edge of the Bay of Acre in northern Israel. The city has a long history with various cultures, a holy city, small but filled with some fascinating sights and attractions including two UNESCO World Heritage Sites; the Old City of Acre, and the Baha’i garden of Acre. The city is filled with citadels, mosques, khans, and baths all well preserved with some charming cobblestone streets lined with restaurants, cafes, shops, and great accommodations. The city center is the place to be for all the attractions in the city, there are some wonderful hotels located here many in authentic buildings with views over the city. Arabic restaurants are within walking distance and the Old City is a short walk away where markets and historical sights can be found. Some stunning boutique hotels can be found along the sparkling Mediterranean coastline with breathtaking views.

Outskirts

There are several surrounding neighborhoods that are a great place to stay when visiting the city of Acre. The Old City is the ancient center of town where the main archeological sites are found as well as the harbor which has plenty to offer as far as accommodation, dining, and entertainment. Janusz Korczak is a neighborhood just north of the Old City, a vibrant leafy area full of beautiful gardens and close to the spectacular coastline. Menachem Begin is an area just a little further north a great place to stay with bright wide boulevards and some great shopping and dining options.
