City Center

The city’s old town offers a beautiful place to stroll amongst the cobblestone streets, the Cathedrale St-Julien, and the many restaurants and cafes. Throughout the city remnants of the city’s Roman past can be seen in the wall ruins and old baths. There are also two museums worth exploring: Musée de la Reine Bérengère and Musée de Tessé.

The old town is about a 15-minute drive to 24 Hours of Le Mans and Museum and Circuit de la Sarthe.

Outskirts

Le Mans is surrounded by fabulous countryside. It takes just a few minutes on the excellent tram service to get into town or to Le Mans 24 Hours, or 5-10 minutes by car. The countryside is where you’ll find Domaine de l’Épau and the Abbaye Royale de l’Épau.
