The rules you need to know before driving in Wales are remarkably similar to the rules you will need to know for driving in England. People drive their cars on the left-hand side of the road with the steering wheel on the right side of the car, much like in England, Scotland, and Ireland. There are a few local differences you will need to be aware of, but otherwise if you have started your self-drive journey in England, driving over to Wales will not require you to re-learn a whole set of rules such as speed limits and the like.
