This is a suggested independent itinerary that you customize. Please select the best flights, hotels, trains, activities, transportation and number of nights in each destination to fit your needs.
A wonderful combination of stunning cities in Europe!. Combine: Varna (known as “The pearl of the Bulgarian Black Seaside”. Historically known as Odessos (Ancient Greek city), grew from a Thracian seaside settlement to a major seaport on the Black Sea. Varna is an important center for business, transportation, education, tourism, entertainment and healthcare), next, take a flight to Sofia (Bulgaria’s capital and its largest city. A youthful city, with a scattering of onion-domed churches, Ottoman mosques and stubborn Red Army monuments that lend an eclectic, exotic feel, as well as its finest museums, galleries, restaurants and clubs) and finally catch a train to Bucharest (known in the past as "The Little Paris". Bucharest has changed a lot lately, and today it has become a very interesting mix of old and new that has little to do with its former reputation). This is a flexible package. Select your number of nights in each city, desired hotel and activities.

This 7 night sample itinerary includes:
  • Flight into Varna and out of Bucharest
  • Hotel for 3 nights in Varna
  • Flight from Varna to Sofia
  • Hotel for 2 nights in Sofia
  • Train from Sofia to Bucharest
  • Hotel for 2 nights in Bucharest

Trip Summary
3 nights in Varna

Varna, the third-largest city in Bulgaria, is the largest of the Black Sea resort towns. Varna is well-known for its archaeological sites and finds, such as the 6,000-year-old Gold of Varna, the oldest gold treasure in the world, and the Roman Baths which is the largest of its kind in the Balkans. Many people use Varna as a jumping-off point to explore the rest of the Black Sea Coast, but it is a popular tourist destination in its own right. It is one of the cultural centers of Bulgaria, and it is also home to one of the most vibrant nightlife scenes in the country. Be sure to visit one of the hot thermal spring `sea baths` which dot the coast.

Sofia houses numerous museums, notably the National Historical Museum which has a vast collection of more than 650,000 historical items. Sofia is one of the hippest cities in Bulgaria, boasting a lively nightlife scene with many different nightclubs, live venues, pubs, mehani (Bulgarian traditional taverns), and restaurants. The city also offers large green spaces and manicured gardens, and the ski slopes and hiking trails of mighty Mount Vitosha are just a short bus ride away.

You will be intrigued by the city`s eclectic mixture of architecture, from old monasteries to Orthodox Churches, Second Empire mansions, the stolid Stalinist architecture of the communist years and the colossal Parliament House, the second largest building in the world after the Pentagon.
