WHY MENORCA?

Menorca, the "small island" compared to the "big island" of nearby Mallorca, is a popular tourist destination in Spain's Balearic Islands. The island has been inhabited for thousands of years, making it a must-visit destination for archaeology and history buffs. Menorca is sometimes referred to as the "island of flowers" because it is home to nearly 1,000 different species of flowers. The two largest settlements on the island, both historically significant to many empires, are the capital Mahón (Maó in the native Catalan) on the eastern side of the island and Ciutadella de Menorca on the western side. Both cities date from the time of the Carthaginians (3rd century BCE).
