Seinajoki is known as a city of education, hospital and health services, culture, sports, as well as of trade and business activities. Thanks to its Alvar Aalto Centre, Seinajoki is a recognized destination for architectural sites. Great buildings designed by Alvar Aalto such as the City Hall dating from 1962, City Library (1965), Lakeuden Risti church (1960) and Civil Guard House can be admired in Seinajoki. It is a city of bustling, colorful market squares and halls, of outdoor summer concerts and sports events, of seaside parks, of excellent cafes and restaurants and cutting-edge art in fine museums.
