Our trip included several days in Krakow, Warsaw and then off to Prague. All three cities were rich with history, cuisine, entertainment and were unbelievably beautiful!. European Destinations truly outdid themselves assisting us in booking this glorious vacation! Sydney really helped us in so many ways knowing it was our first trip to Europe. On our first stop to Krakow, we stayed at the Amadeus Hotel. The rating on this hotel is four star and should have been a five star! The rooms were clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the location near the Old Town Square was fantastic! We hired a private driver to get us from the airport to the hotel. He spoke very good English and gave us some very interesting information about the City. I plan to go back to Krakow and the Amadeus Hotel next year!

On our way to our next stop, Warsaw, we took the high speed IC train from Krakow. For anyone that reads this, please make sure you understand that no one speaks English on this train or at the station. Finding the right platform is a bit hairy and making a reservation is a must. You also must purchase a seat either on the train or at the station. Those are two separate acquisitions. Once on the train, the view of Poland can only be described as lush, rich with farming and not very populated. There are lots of little villages to see from the view of the trains window.

Warsaw has incredible history for all you history buffs. The people are very friendly and helpful. We stayed at the Hetman Hotel that was extremely close to all the shopping, Old Town Square, restaurants and guided tours. The Hetman is listed as a three star hotel but once again, should have been at least a four star. Rooms were clean and spacious and very quaint.

Then it was off to Prague where we stayed at the Residence Agnes. This hotel was rated as a four star hotel. We were not very lucky with our private driver we hired to get us from the airport to the hotel as he had a very bad attitude. He was scheduled to pick us up from our hotel and take us to the airport for our return trip home but he never showed up causing somewhat of a panic. However, the Residence Agnes helped us out by hiring a cab driver of which arrived within three minutes and got us safely to the airport. Whew.

The Residence Agnes is rated as a four star hotel. Unfortunately this hotel really is equal to about a 2.5 star. I will add that the location was absoultely perfect and the staff very helpful. The breakfast each morning truly was delicious. The hotel itself needed some repair work and the carpets needed cleaning. The shower head in our room kept falling off the wall. lol.

We had such a glorious time that we are now planning on going through European Destinations for our trip next year! We plan to revisit Krakow and then journey over to Budapest! I can`t wait!

For any Americans traveling through Frankfurt Airport, here are some helpful hints. Know that when you arrive at Frankfurt you will definately need no less than 2.5 hours between connecting flights. You will be escorted through immigration and then security. Depending on how many people on your flight and some other flights determine the long lines with each secuirty/immigration checkpoint. On your return to the USA if flying through Frankfurt it will be the same thing. Once in the USA, whatever hub you fly into, you will have to pick up your luggage and go through customs before making a connecting flight. Please plan accordingly and give yourself plenty of time.
