1. What kind of documents do I need for traveling to Europe?
We are not responsible for providing documentation information
for your trip. You can access the State
Department website. We recommend checking with the destination country's
consulate in advance before embarking on your trip. Please
pay special attention to children traveling with only one parent. You are
required to have a US passport. If you are a non-US citizen or a legal alien
resident, you might have additional restrictions, to include re-entry in
the United States.
2. Is the e-ticket receipt the same as e-ticket?
Is it enough to travel with?
The ticket receipt is all you need to board a plane.
The actual e-ticket is in electronic format and
it is to be found in the airline?s computer system.
To reduce costs and save time most airlines prefer
to issue e-tickets. It is as safe to purchase e-tickets,
as it is to purchase paper ones. Most airlines
will actually charge you extra if you prefer paper
tickets. Some airlines or some combinations of
airlines require us to issue you paper tickets.
In this case, you will not be charged an extra
fee.
3. How can I print out my documents
or my airline tickets?
Please go to ?Check
your booking? and enter your booking
number and your email and you will see
the travel vouchers necessary for your
trip. Your printed vouchers are proof of
payment. These documents must be presented
to the hotel and transfer/ sightseeing
services. Providing these documents will
prevent delays at your final destination.
4. Do I need to confirm my flight?
It is always a good idea to call the airline 72 hours in advance
to confirm your reservation, especially if you booked your
vacation months in advance. Once you book a vacation package
on our site, you will receive a booking number and you will
be able to check the status of your booking on our website.
5. When am I going to receive my train tickets?
Please be advised that we are dealing with the European Rail
System, which means different rules for different countries.
As a rule of thumb, train tickets cannot be reserved until
60 days prior to your departure (in
some cases, train tickets can only be reserved days in advance).
Once your tickets are reserved they will be sent to you via
2nd day FEDEX. When traveling within Spain you will receive
your train tickets in an e-mail before departure. Be sure to
take these documents with you. Rest assured, we are here for
you and we will work behind the scenes for your vacation to
go as planned.
If you ordered transfers between train stations and hotels,
these cannot be reserved until your trains have been reserved
as we need to provide that information to our suppliers. We
will send you a separate email when these transfers are confirmed
so that you may print those transfers.
As always, we are only an email or phone call away, whatever your inquiries and
concerns.
6. How can I find out the train schedule?
Email us,
and we will send you the schedule you need. Due to the complexity
and dynamism of the European Railway System, at this time we
cannot display an online schedule.
7.
I don?t understand the rankings of
your hotels. Can you explain?
There are many ways to categorize hotels, but the most popular
ones are either the categories we use or the stars. If you
are not familiar with our system, think of the following: deluxe=five
stars; superior = four stars, moderate = three stars, tourist
superior=two stars plus Tourist=Two stars. The description
of each hotel gives you a pretty good idea of the amenities
offered on site.
8. General statement about lodging in Europe
Most hotels in Europe, especially those closer to historic
districts, occupy older buildings. Therefore, a 2-3 star hotel
might not have all the perks (and the space) similarly-ranked
US hotels have. It is important to consider this before planning
your trip to Europe, for extra peace of mind. Unless you are
looking for luxury, please remember that you are in Europe
mostly to enjoy the sights, not the hotels. Rather than looking
for amenities you will not have time to enjoy, the location
of the hotel (i.e. its proximity to sites of interest) is far
more important than free, broadband internet or 24/7 gym.
9. If I booked for 4 people, do I get a quad
room or 2 doubles?
By default, you will be assigned to a quad room (where available).
Please be advised: each room needs a different booking. If
you made a booking for 4 people and would like two different
rooms, please contact
us with your booking number so we can help you book the
trip you want. As a general rule, hotel rooms in Europe are
small. Hotels do not allow more than 3 people to a room (including
1 child). A limited number of hotels allow quads, which narrows
availability and selection.
10. I am traveling with my children. I know
children usually benefit from special rates. What is the maximum
age for children to enjoy all the benefits of travel?
For children to enjoy reduced travel, they must be 11 years
of age or younger. Please make sure that your children do not
turn 12 while traveling, as they will not qualify for discounted
fares. Please
note: hotel rooms in Europe are small. Hotels do not
allow more than 3 people to a room (including 1 child). A limited
number of hotels allow quads, which narrows availability and
selection.
11. How can I
book 2 adults and 2 or 3 children?
From the booking box, below your travel dates, you can select
the number of travelers, to include the number of children that
will be traveling with you.
12. How do I book my vacation?
If you are using our flexible package booking engine, please
consult these
visual instructions.
13. How early should I book my vacation to
Europe?
Europe is a
popular vacation
spot, all year
long. Please
book early
to avoid being
disappointed.
As always,
book early
to enjoy price
cuts and multiple
options. For
example, Spain?s Premier trains, especially Artesia, Elipsos ? night
trains with
only one departure
tend to sell
out fast. If
you book your
vacation two
weeks in advance,
spaces might
not be available.
14. How are my requests handled?
Airline and
hotels are
confirmed
instantly,
except for
very small
towns in
remote areas. Sightseeing tours and airport/hotel
transfers are confirmed manually within days of booking. Note:
sometimes sightseeing tours are cancelled due to lack of participation
as the departure date gets close. In those instances,
we advise clients of the fact and offer another tour or refund
for the unused tour. Trains
cannot be
reserved
until at
least 60
days prior,
sometimes
only days
in advance,
and only
once those
are confirmed
can we request
train/hotel
transfers.
15. Is the payment due in full?
At this time, we accept only payments in full. We are working
on alternative methods of payments. Thank you for your understanding.
16. Is your price fixed or can vary?
All the
prices
displayed
on our
site
are dynamic
in nature.
Usually,
we provide
prices
as guidance
and we
updated
them
on a
monthly
basis,
but they
depend
on air
and hotel
availability.
Airline
prices
can change
as often
as 6
times
a day,
every
day. Your
prices
will
depend
on the
time
of travel,
on how
early
in advance
you made
the booking,
and on
the selections
you made
during
the booking
process.
Once
you paid
in full
and we
have
confirmed
all the
segments
of your
trip,
your
price
is locked
and will
not change.
17. Are the prices on your site in US Dollars
or Canadian Dollars?
All the prices on our site are in US dollars. We apologize
for any inconvenience.
18. Why is my price different than the advertised
price?
This could happen for a variety of reasons listed below:
• Travel Itinerary: rates quoted in the ad are valid for the period when
the lowest airfare price is available - which is generally during weekdays.
Different dates selected may result in higher prices - especially when including
a weekend day as a travel date. The ad was selected to price from a specific
departure city. If you are departing from a different city, your price will
vary.
• Seats for lowest fare no longer available: By the time your price your
vacation, the flights for your itinerary may no longer have any low-priced
seats available.
• Air Taxes: Advertised prices do not include taxes associated with flights
such as:
| International departure and arrival tax: |
$27.40 |
Immigration / Customs fees: |
$15.10 |
Federal excise fee per leg (assuming
4 stops): |
$3.10X4=$12.40 |
Security fee every time you board a
plane: |
$2.50X4=$10.00 |
TOTAL so far per person on the average
trip: |
$64.90 |
• Ads generally do not include
transfers. If you select transfers, the price will increase.
• Ad rates do not include insurance and shipping options. If you select
these, your price will increase
19. I have not received a voucher for my insurance,
am I supposed to get one?
Rest assured, if you purchased insurance and you need to make a claim or inquire about travel insurance, all you have to do is call 1-866.690.6863 (when calling from the US) or collect 1.715.295.5452 (when calling from abroad) and please refer to product # 002222-P1 6/02. As always, we are here to answer any question you might have. Also, please consult our travel
insurance page.
20. Is the package refundable if
we don't get the insurance?
It depends. Travel insurance will protect you in case of unforeseen
circumstances (read more about it here). However, if you wish
to cancel a trip, there will be cancellation fees imposed by
the airlines, hotels, and other travel partners |
