Day 1: Dublin City (20 kms)
Arrival Dublin Airport, pick up car and transfer to nearby Howth. Time to relax from flight. Afternoon to explore Dublin city, trace its history from early Viking origins, through the mediaeval magnificence of St. Patrick's Cathedral. Visits to Dublinia, Guinness, Jameson Irish Whiskey Distillery, Trinity College and much much more. Suggested Hotel: Deer Park Hotel and Golf Courses, Howth, Co. Dublin.
Day 2: Limerick Region (240 kms)
Today travel south through the rich midland pastures en-route to the medieval city of Limerick. Pass through Cashel, where you can visit the imposing Rock of Cashel, one of Ireland's most important ecclesiastical sites, which rise dramatically from the flat countryside. Continue on to the pretty village of Adare on the south side of Limerick village. Suggested Hotel: Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick.
Day 3: Clare/Shannonside Region (170 kms)
Pass through Limerick City, perhaps visit the Hunt Museum an exhibit of one of Ireland's greatest private collections of art and antiquities. Continue on into Clare and visit the Cliffs of Moher a spectacular 5-mile long cliff, which rises almost 700 feet above sea level. Return to Adare stopping at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, where you can see Irish village life in the 1900's recreated in this theme park. Suggested Hotel: Fitzgerald's Woodlands House Hotel, Adare, Co. Limerick.
Day 4: Kerry and Killarney (200 kms)
Today travel to Killarney perhaps visiting Tralee and the Dingle Peninsula en-route. In Tralee why not visit the Kerry Museum, which traces the history of Kerry from 5,000 BC to the present day. Continue on to Killarney for overnight. Suggested Hotel: Whitegates Hotel, Killarney, Co. Kerry.
Day 5: Ring of Kerry Tour (140 kms) Today tour one of Ireland's loveliest districts, the Ring of Kerry. Poets, painters, writers and musicians have all tried to convey the beauty of this area. Mountains, valleys and lakes blend into a palette of scenic splendor. A delightful day includes a drive along the broad, dramatic coastline of the Iveragh Peninsula and through the charming villages and towns of Killorglin, Cahirciveen, Waterville and Irish-speaking Sneem. Why not visit Muckross House, a magnificent Victorian mansion and one of Ireland's leading stately homes. The gardens at Muckross House are renowned worldwide for their beauty; in particular they are noted for their fine collections of azaleas and rhododendrons. Day 6: Waterford/Wexford Region (230 kms)
Today travel eastwards through Cork, Ireland's second city. On the outskirts of Cork, visit Blarney Castle and Blarney Woollen Mills, perhaps one of Ireland's best stores featuring Irish made clothing, crafts and other goods. In Cork, why not visit Cork City Gaol, or travel to Cobh, the last port of call of the Titanic. The Cobh Heritage Center tells the story of the Titanic. Continue along the southern coastline arriving in Waterford, where you can visit the World famous Waterford Crystal facility. Suggested Hotel: Cedar Lodge Hotel, Carrigbyrne, Newbawn, Co. Wexford.
Day 7: Dublin (170 kms)
Return to Dublin, for last minute sightseeing and shopping. Why not attend an Irish dinner and music show at the Abbey Tavern. Suggested Hotel: Deer Park Hotel and Golf Courses, Howth, Co. Dublin.
Day 8: Return Home (20 kms)
Departure from Dublin Airport.
