Trip Summary
2 nights in Barcelona

Barcelona - Spain's second city - is always on the biting edge of fashion, architecture, food, style, music and good times. Barcelona is one of the most dynamic and exciting cities on the western Mediterranean seaboard. Walk its narrow streets and wonderful plazas and discover its magic: stalls full of books, birds and flowers. Explore its new modern squares, designed by leading artists such as Miró and Barceló and every visitor will understand how Barcelona has been transformed into one of the most moderns and active cities in Europe.

Recommended Stay: At least 3 nights
Must See`s:
Sagrada Familia, Picasso Museum, La Rambla, Barri Gotic, Park Guell, modernist buildings, Montjuic Hill, Barceloneta and so much more!
.

2 nights in Perpignan

Once Catalonia's second city after Barcelona, Perpignan is the meeting point of all the routes which lead to the seaside, the mountains, and also all the other cultural environments. Magnificent monuments: the "Palais des Rois de Majorque", the Castillet, the "Loge de Mer", the cathedral of St John the Baptist built between the 1324 and 1509 or the Campo Santo can be admired here. Immortalized by Dali to make its train station the center of the world, Perpignan will seduce you by its diversity.

2 nights in Carcassonne

The greatest fortress city of Europe, Carcassone, is a fairyland, evoking bold knights, fair damsels, and troubadours. Time seems to stand still in this place filled with magic. It is separated into the fortified Cité de Carcassonne and the more expansive lower city, the ville basse. Everybody comes for the Cité, the double-walled and turreted fortress that was added to the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites in 1997.

2 nights in Aix en Provence

The most charming center in all Provence, this university town was once a seat of aristocracy, its streets walked by counts and kings. The countryside of Aix-en-Provence nearby attracts every year, many tourists. The gentle way of life, the incomparable light fascinated the artists and its beautiful countryside inspired the painter Paul Cézanne for a lifetime. Summer brings frequent cultural events, ranging from opera to jazz, June through August.

2 nights in Nice

Nice is the capital of the Riviera, yet far less glamorous and expensive than Cannes. It's also one of the most ancient, having been founded by the Greeks, who called it "Nike," or Victory. Because of its brilliant sunshine and relaxed living, it has attracted in the past famous artists and writers. The best trip center on the Riviera, you can choose to explore region or hang out in its famous cafes. But the most obvious hangout spot here is the beach. The Nice beach is rocks, just rocks so wear a pair of good sandals.

2 nights in Santa Margherita Ligure

The palm lined harbor town of Santa Margherita Ligure is very close to Portofino. It was well known in the early 1900`s as a fashionable retreat for the rich and glamorous; today it is a peaceful, pretty town, better known now for the food festivals. Santa Margherita is also famous for its lobsters, caught daily by the fleet of fishing ships. It has a picture-perfect seaside promenade, where elegant hotels with Liberty facades overlook million-dollar yachts with bars, cafes, gelaterie and restaurants spread along the seafront the main quay. This is a pleasant, convenient base and ideally situated for day trips, such as Portofino, the picturesque San Fruttuoso monastery, the resorts of Camogli and Rapallo, Genoa and the Cinque Terre (around an hour by train, or an all-day boat excursion).

Recommended Stay:
At least 2 nights

Must See`s:
Basilica di Santa Margherita (Baroque designs, lavish gold leaf and crystal chandeliers); Shopping (a shopper`s haven, paintings by Massimo Meda; designer home furnishings, original Lacoste shirts, and designer clothes from brand-name shops); Piazza Martiri della Liberta, and Piazza Vittorio Veneto (two seaside squares to sit and watch the activities of the fishing boats); The low hill dominating the waterfront is an interesting place to explore. Behind the small Castello and the severely striped Chiesa dei Frati Cappuccini are intriguing overgrown passageways prowled by semi-wild cats.

2 nights in Lake Como

Situated less than an hour by train or car from Milan, Como is a remarkable destination, not only for being used as a backdrop for one of the Star Wars movies, but also more importantly for its beauty. The dramatic backdrop of the azure lake makes this little town a romantic destination rivaling Venice. All romance aside, Como is a serene place to escape from the madness of the modern life, where visitors can savor every moment.

Recommended Stay:
At least 2 nights

Must See`s:
Bellagio, Como, Villa Serbelloni, Villa Carlotta, Villa d`Este, Villa del Balbianello, Menaggio, Varenna

2 nights in Florence

Florence, the capital of Tuscany, is one of Italy`s most atmospheric and pleasant, retaining a strong resemblance to the small late-medieval center that contributed so much to the cultural and political development of Europe. Art treasures Michelangelo`s David Botticelli`s Birth of Venus, and Raphael's La Velata draw millions of visitors every year. Throw into the mix fabulous architecture (the Duomo with Brunelleschi's dome, Giotto's campanile, Santa Croce), fine restaurants and earthy trattorie, plus leading designer boutiques and bustling outdoor markets, and the city of the Renaissance becomes quite simply one of the world`s must-see sights.

Recommended Stay: At least 2 nights
Must See`s:
The Duomo Complex, Church of Santa Croce, The Cathedral, The Uffizi Gallery, Galleria dell`Accademia, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio, Pitti Palace, Boboli Gardens and so much more!

France

France remains one of the worlds most talked-about and written-about destinations. Whether the romance of Paris sweeps you off your feet or you fall gently for the relaxed life of Provence, France is a place for lovers, and will leave you spellbound. Paris is undoubtedly one of the world's great cities, with enough monuments, museums, restaurants, theatres and shows to last a lifetime. The northern provinces of Normandy and Brittany are steeped in history while the Loire Valley is world famous for its châteaux. And there is more to explore.

Italy

For centuries, Italy has drawn foreign visitors, mostly for its architectural, artistic and scenic splendors. Italy can truly be all things to all people. For some the Italian experience is full of passion and excitement, urbanity, crowds and noise. For others it is a quiet rural idyll where the traditional life can be experienced. Its great cities are replete with fantastic works of art ranging from the Roman times to the Renaissance. Even then, many visitors will forego the rich attractions of culture in favor of some of the most unspoilt beaches and spectacular mountains in the world.

Spain

Spain is a country of passion, excitement and enthusiasm unlike any other in Western Europe. Madrid, the magnificent capital, Barcelona, Valencia and Seville are effervescent cosmopolitan cities with some of the best museums and galleries in Europe. Costa-style resorts take much of the coast up although cities such as Alicante, Marbella, Malaga and Mallorca's Palma retain their charm. And everywhere you can find secret hideaways with empty beaches. The best way to explore rural Spain is to visit Galicia and Asturias, the arid villages of Andalucia and the peaks of the Sierra Nevada and the Pyrenees.
