GHENT - HOTEL ZONES

City Center

The Belfry is the heart of the Historical Center. Wherever you look at the largely pedestrianized city center, you will see buildings and monuments with a story to tell. A 1,000-year-old fortress, three medieval towers and the most beautiful double row of houses in Europe, on each side of the river, all within walking distance from one another. Staying in the city center will allow you to visit many of the sites on foot, which is the most efficient way to explore this charming and trendy Belgian city. This area is also convenient to the bars, shops and restaurants, as well as just minutes from the Old Fish market, the scenic Graslei and Korenlei Ghent along Leie River.

Outskirts

The outskirt hotels are situated in different locations outside of the city center. You will want to check directly with these hotels on their location and transportation options. There are some great options for staying just outside the city, but you will want to take into account your travel time to the local attractions on your itinerary.

The five adjoining areas: Lys Valley, Meetjesland, Waasland, Scheldeland and the Flemish Ardennes, each have their own specific characteristics, as well as numerous museums, monuments, churches, gardens and beguinages among their many attractions.
