City Center

Staying in the city center allows easy access to many of the restaurants and shops, as well as the city`s various attractions. Most of these hotels are situated approximately a mile distance from Ragusa`s central train station. Ragusa Ibla (Old Town) is the historic center, beautiful, but touristy. Modern Ragusa, is Ragusa Superiore where everyday life takes place, and where public transport arrives and departs from Ragusa. Staying in either area allows you to experience the local life of the city.

Outskirts

There are a number of hotels to choose from in the outskirts of Ragusa. Some of these hotels are situated right in the charming town of Modica, which is located approximately nine miles south of the city center of Ragusa. Modica is a historical town offering richly decorated buildings built at the foot of a rocky ridge and made up of two urban sections: the upper and lower Modica, both are fascinating to explore. Staying in the hotels offered in Modica will give you easy access to restaurants, bars and shops, while also offering links to public transportation networks that are typically a short walk from most of these hotels. The beach is just a 15 minute drive and other nearby towns include Noto (30 minute drive), Ragusa Ibla (Old town) and Pozzallo (both 15 minutes), and Siracusa (50 minutes by car).

Other hotels in the outskirts are located in various neighborhoods around the greater Ragusa area. If you stay in one of the outskirt hotels, be sure to check if there is public transportation nearby, you may need to have use of a rental car service depending on the hotels location. The outskirts hotels are typically great to have a retreat from the crowds, but make sure to account for travel time and transportation options.
