Where is Lusail located in Qatar?

Lusail is the second-largest city in Qatar after Doha, located 14 miles north of the Doha city center, just north of the West Bay Lagoon.

How do I get to Lusail?

Lusail is located 13 miles north of the Doha city center and is well-connected to all of Doha. There are numerous ways to visit the city.

By Air: One can easily fly and land at the Hamad International Airport.

If you have not booked a private transfer with us, you have a few options to get into the city. After landing at the airport, take a taxi or car rental to reach Lusail. As the cities lie close to each other, travelers often stay at Doha and travel by road to Lusail, which is one of the most ideal modes of transportation.

Taxis are very reliable and use taximeters to calculate the fare; a ride from Doha International Airport to Lusail will take about 25 - 30 minutes in light traffic.

By Bus: A more budget-friendly alternative is to use the local metro; the red line directly connects Doha Airport to Lusail Stadium so the journey takes only about 50 minutes if you take into account some walking that is needed to get to the metro station.

How do I get around in Lusail?

The city boasts a light rail network, a water taxi transportation system, a cycle and pedestrian network, a park and ride system and a sophisticated intra-mobility network.

The city’s Light Rail Transit (LRT) network, connected across districts, is designed against environmentally friendly and energy-efficient operational models. In the future, the network will be integrated into other railways in Qatar, namely the Doha Metro interchanges.

Lusail has a Tram system that makes getting around the city easy. The first phase of Lusail Tram services opened for the public starting January 2022. There are currently 25 stations across four lines that comprise the Tram network, the first phase of the Lusail Tram features the operation of a part of the Orange Line with six stations.

What is the weather like in Lusail? When is the best time to visit?

November to February are the winter months when the weather is cool and pleasant. Temperatures range between mid 60's to mid 70's F. This is considered the best time to visit.

April and May are considered the cheapest times to visit the area. The weather is hot and dry and there is little to no rainfall. This time is great if you want to spend most of the time outdoors without sudden rains spoiling your plans. The hotel prices are lower compared to the rest of the year. However, rising temperatures with no rainfall make Lusail less pleasant at this time. April and May can also be the months of sand storms that cause limited visibility and breathing issues. This can make your outdoor plans a bit challenging.

What is the currency in Lusail? What is the tipping culture?

The official currency used is the Qatari Riyal (QAR).

I don’t speak Arabic will many people speak English?

Although Arabic is the official language, English is widely spoken and understood. It is commonly used in business, education, government, tourism, and social interactions.
